Portfolio Rank

The best developer portfolios, ranked

The problem

Developer portfolios live in scattered lists and Twitter threads, sorted alphabetically at best. There is no good way to browse the genuinely great ones or learn what makes them work.

The build

1,700+ community-curated developer portfolios, browsable, searchable, and ranked by head-to-head human votes plus AI scoring instead of alphabetical order. Each site gets a screenshot, Lighthouse scores, and an AI review. Built on Emma Bostian's open developer-portfolios list.

Vote, or add your portfolio

Pick the better of two portfolios in about five seconds, or add yours: it gets a screenshot, Lighthouse scores and an AI review, and joins the head-to-head rankings.

Credits

  • Emma Bostian, developer-portfolios: The community list every portfolio here comes from, curated by Emma and thousands of contributors since 2019. Go star it.
  • Ali Spittel: Her 2019 tweet asking developers to share their portfolios is what started the list.

Stack & choices

  • Next.js · React · TypeScriptFace-off voting, leaderboard, and the searchable catalog

  • Turso (libSQL)Votes, ELO scores, and the catalog
  • GeminiPairwise judging to seed the rankings, plus a 6-axis rubric grade per site

Process notes

  1. 1

Open source and community-built - the catalog grows from the same public list it started from.

  2. 2

Rankings start from AI: Gemini judges portfolios head to head so the leaderboard is useful before human votes pile up, then ELO takes over as people vote.

  3. 3

The pipeline runs itself: daily GitHub Actions sync the upstream list, judge new matchups, and refresh screenshots and scores.

  4. 4

Free, with a Ko-fi support link - stars and contributions welcome.
